Blue Cane Palm
Distribution & Habitat:
Although the Blue Cane Palm has not been found in the wild it is presumed to originate from Madagasca, most probably from the open forests of the Comores Islands.
Culture:
Blue Cane Palms grow quite happily in filtered light but will accept full sun part of the day. It prefers a well draining soil.
Description:
Dypsis cabadae is a medium sized clumping feather palm with a bluish/grey crownshaft which grows to about 8 metres tall. This palm is an excellent alternative to the Golden Cane Palm with its extraordinary beautiful trunks.
Climate Zones:
Tropical to sub-tropical. Will also grow in temperate climates if temperatures will not drop below freezing point.
